Discipleship Training School

A Discipleship Training School (or DTS for short) is a 5 month Christian discipleship school run by YWAM bases all over the world. The school is split into two halves: lecture phase and outreach phase. The lecture phase is 3 months of classes where every week we will discover a different topic such as: the nature and character of God, the Bible, hearing God’s voice, and many more. Growing us deeper in love with Jesus and His Word, helping us to understand who He is and who we are in Him, knowing our identity and purpose on this earth. The outreach phase is 2 months of missions! Taking what we learn in the lecture phase and putting it into practice to bless others and share God’s Gospel, Word, and love to the nations.

A DTS is a great opportunity to get to know God better together with a community of people who are hungry to do the same with you, and get a strong foundation for the rest of your life in whatever you do. It is also a great entryway into missions if you feel called to missions or ministry in any way. A DTS is the entry school into YWAM, opening up many more training schools and possibilities through the University of the Nations (YWAM’s university).

Upcoming School

We will be running our next DTS at the end of June 2025! The starting date is the 27th of June 2025. More details will come soon about this DTS, but for now we can share that it will be a Rugby Plus DTS! This doesn’t mean it’s only for people who like rugby, it just means for those on the school who are interested we will be trying to use Fiji’s love for rugby to point people to Jesus. If you don’t like rugby you are still welcome to come!

We do have two different fees for this school, a local fee and an international fee. The reason for this is our calling as a base is to raise up local Fijian youths as role models into the nations (read more about this on our About page), so these fees are to make DTS more accessible to locals by taking away the financial barrier in the way for many.

The local school fee is FJD$1,000. However, if you don’t have this money don’t worry. Just let us know and we are happy to work with you and stand with you in faith for God to provide. Just bring what money and food you have (cassava, dalo, etc.) and we will trust God to provide the rest. Outreach fees will be announced at the beginning of the school, but we will fundraise together for this, so again don’t let money stop you from coming.

The international school fee is FJD$5,500 for the lecture phase, and then the outreach phase fees will vary between FJD$2,000-5000 depending on where your outreach location will be. Outreach locations will be announced during the lecture phase with the price as well. These prices are regular DTS fees, and again, the reason for the difference in price is to make DTS accessible for Fijians. If you have any problems with getting this money just let us know in your application form.
